If you’ve tried to make sense of health advice lately, you’ve probably noticed the same thing I see patients struggle with every day: an overwhelming amount of information out there.
It’s no wonder people feel stuck trying to figure out what actually matters. This is a frustration I feel alongside you and this is exactly why I created Pareto Life..
WHY THIS EXISTS
More than 2 years ago, I decided to research the supplements my patients were taking. The following thoughts have crossed my mind: Are physicians falling behind? Do my patients know something I don’t? How much is marketing?
The only statistic I was familiar with was that 15% of liver failures are related to supplements, however that does not discount the whole industry. The information is overwhelming and I wonder how my patients can navigate the endless health claims on social media and the internet.
Join me on my journey of discovery, research and steel-manning both sides of the data. I wish medicine was binary but the reality is that it is nuanced. Personally, I want to know what I should be doing differently with my own health as well as with my patients.
The problem isn’t that people want to optimize their health. That instinct is good. The problem is that calling something “science-backed” has become essentially meaningless. Anyone can slap that phrase on a label. What actually matters is far more specific.
